The newly published Christmas with Grandpa Dimitri aims to initiate children into the virtues of giving and solidarity. Obviously, presents are the main subject of discussion between the grandchildren, and this provides an excellent opportunity for their grandfather to remind them that it isn’t wrong for them to be impatient for their gifts, so long as they learn to give presents to others as well. So what if they don’t have any money! the best presents are created out of imagination and love. Wise old grandpa Dimitri puts it clearly: ‘Presents are not only things that we buy. More than anything they are the love we give’.
