THE 7 KEYS TO THE LORD’S PRAYER

This is a comic book about the most important prayer that the Lord bequeathed to us. Without being didactic, without employing unusual words and meanings, but with a lot of humour, bright colours and games, the child learns about communicating with God and about the living presence of God’s teaching in daily life.

‘The Sunday prayer, or the prayer which the Lord himself suggested that everyone should use when speaking to God, is distinguished by its simplicity, clarity and seven requirements (keys) that are essential in a person’s life.

The book makes it possible for young children:

• to understand the need for communication with God as the creator of heaven and earth, as father and friend;
• to realize that purely human needs are the gift of God
• to perceive the importance of a real relationship with their fellow-human beings
• to be aware of the presence of evil in life which conspires against every move we make.

It should not be read quickly and all in one go, but bit by bit, because the dialogues introduce thoughts and ideas which in turn, and at unexpected moments, can inspire the child to think for itself. It would be good if, whenever possible, the reading of the book could be turned into a conversation “game” between the parent and the child.’
